Yup, i think some interim save points would be better in many cases than medal of honor style save a thousand times if you like. Hello - two big ships, thousands of personnel presumably zombified, many many service robots ( cargo holds filled with them ) and security robots policing one of the main access areas of the ship, it stands to reason you would make passing acquaintance with many of them if you're stupid enough to hang out in one place for too long, doesn't it? It would kinda spoil the immersion just a tad to be able to wade through the game Terminator-style and kill every single living/non-living thing that moves. There was a great wailing and gnashing of teeth over the constant respawning on the Engineering Deck and in other areas, which, when coupled with the frequent breakage of weapons and relative scarcity of weaponry/ammunition, lead to lots of clawing of cheeks and tearing out of hair. I don't really mind monster/guard/rabid dog/death ninja respawning in games, though. There has to be a balance between making it just challenging enough without having to replay the same level eleventy-gajillion times over and over and over and over and over and over, ad nauseum, from the beginning of the level because you don't quite have the timing down on one particular part, or there are rabid killer dogs nipping at your heels while lady death ninjas flick poison-laced shuriken as you dance over and under laser beams, or they decided at the end of the monster level to include a JUMPING PUZZLE! How refreshing!

Is there anyone else besides me out there that actually likes games where you can't constantly save? It takes all the challenge out of it to be able to quicksave after killing every bad-dude. that said, thief aint got the best graphics but the gameplay cant be beat. i remember seeing the box and thinking the graphics looked pretty crap and didnt bother picking it up must have been the first one. Having heard about this NOLF(&2) on more than a few occasions, i might give it a try. granted, this pushes the envelop a lot though if they are close together. sniping does have the edge though i think.Īs per the sniper/pistol switch, i had not discovered it and wont bother using it as it wouldnt be within the spirit of the game.Īs per the snipe the guy with a guy beside him, i say fair game as long as they are far enough apart. i kinda life knifing people and being up close and personal about as much as sniping. to a certain extent it adds balance (if you could just keep a sniper rifle at all times this would be a lot eaier). I agree with the stupidity of chucking away perfectly good weapons between levels.

next time i am taking the camera out first i think i believe what alerted them was that i either 1) shot a guard whose route is in front of a camera and hence someone looking at the camera saw they guy dead or 2) i shot out a camera which ought to alert a camera guy (although this was not the case on the first level so i suspect it might have been the first point. I think what alerted them on my last attempt was impressive. Oh, i have definitely tried not to alert them.
